The first few years of Godzilla Black's existence were spent as a two piece; two drummers with a couple of mics and bits of electronic equipment. Songs were written bit by bit - constructed in layers and sections, never really considering that anyone would hear these recordings. As such the question of how they might be played live was never an issue. Venturing onto the stage as a two piece a while back consideration had to be given to how these tracks might be performed in front of an audience: not the way we'd recorded them and not without 30 friends armed with pringle boxes filled with nails. The idea of replicating them faithfully was dismissed and we approached them as different entities to their recorded twins. A fuller line up hasn't changed our determination that seeing Godzilla Black live should be a different animal altogether to hearing the record. Music has a life and a personality of its own and who are we to inhibit its growth.We're doing a short UK tour this summer. Come and check out the live GB experience and say hi on:
